Welcome to the website for the Tectonics, Metamorphic Petrology & Orogenesis (TeMPO) Lab @ Hopkins.
Research in the TeMPO Lab focuses on time scales, rates and tempos of lithospheric processes recorded in metamorphic and igneous rocks/complexes. We interrogate these temporal records via petrologically and stratigraphically controlled geochronology and geochemistry. Of particular research interest are questions of episodicity v. gradualism in convergent margin processes and of secular change in Earth tectonics. This website gives some background on who we are, how we are setup, and the research we perform at Johns Hopkins University.
We are always on the lookout for good graduate students. In particular, we are looking for individuals with diverse backgrounds that bring exciting perspectives. If you are thinking about graduate research in the TeMPO Lab, please check the 'Student Opportunities' page.
If you are otherwise interested in geology–geochronology–petrology–tectonics, please take a look around.
